April 19, 1960 - March 4, 2025

 

Julie Seiko Cunningham, of Omaha, Nebraska died Tuesday March 4, 2025. Julie was born at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan on April 19, 1960 to Robert and Takeko Tsukamoto. Julie is survived by her parents and her husband, William Cunningham and their two children Dustin Cunningham and his wife Hannah (Miller) Cunningham and their two children, Lilian and Matthew of Omaha; her daughter Kelly Cunningham of Orlando; and her brother Ladd Tsukamoto and his wife Leslie and their two daughters Miranda McGahan and Kristin Tsukamoto and her husband Steven. Julie lived in many parts of the world, Japan, California, Hawaii, Indiana, England and Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Creighton University where she met her husband and her greatest love, Bluejay Basketball. She also attended the University of Nebraska Omaha for her second degree to become an elementary teacher. Julie was a beloved teacher. She taught 3rd grade for her entire 33 year career at St. James/Seton school, where she preferred her students to be shorter than herself. Upon leaving teaching, Julie became a full time babysitter for her two grandchildren and helped her parents. Julie's heart was always for the educational needs of everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Omaha Catholic School Consortium which serves to keep schools and education affordable and accessible to families of primary school children in their own communities. VIGIL SERVICE: Friday, March 7, 7:00 pm, St. James Catholic Church, 4710 North 90th Street, Omaha.

 

VISITATION: Friday, March 7, 5:00-7:00 pm, St. James Catholic Church.

 

FUNERAL MASS: Saturday, March 8, 10:00 am, St. James Catholic Church.

 

LUNCHEON: After Mass, St. James Parish Center.

 

INTERMENT: After luncheon, Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7710 West Center Road, Omaha.
