Don passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 1, 2025, at the age of 85.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents, John B. Reiner and Mary Dworshak Reiner; brothers, John R. Reiner and Paul Reiner; and sister, Carole Baumgart.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Reiner; brother, Tom Reiner and wife, Sharon; and his children, all of Omaha, NE, Jeff Reiner and wife, Shelly, Jill Reiner, Amy Reiner, and Kevin Reiner and wife, Kim. Don was a devoted grandfather to Jake Reiner, Rachael Hudson and husband, Nate, Nate Reiner and wife, Jaclynn, Maegyn Reiner, Henry Reiner, and Charlotte Reiner.
A wake will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., with service beginning at 7 p.m., at John A. Gentleman Mortuary, 1010 N 72nd St., Omaha, NE 68114. The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, 7710 West Center Road, Omaha, NE 68124.
